City Gazing
ps. Matthieu Blazy watched my ig story on the last day of 2025
My latest piece for The Intentional Muse, and honestly? It was one of the hardest pieces I’ve written.
I tried not to yap too much about Matthieu Blazy and Chanel (even though his debut collection was still fresh news when I started writing). Unsuccessful—I ended up rewriting the whole piece around them.
And collaborated with the dearest irems for the illustration.
How was everyone’s first week of 2026- any regrets so far?
Mine is going inspirational, full of anticipation for what's to come.
In the piece, I wrote about how Blazy’s October debut sparked something new—not just for Chanel fans, but for fashion itself. A new chapter. An exploration of past and future at once.
Like Coco Chanel, I’ve always been fascinated by the sky and stars. Not in an astrological sense—more a curiosity about the vast darkness, the way constellations guide us. I grew up in a big city (much like NYC), where the skyline brightens the night and stargazing is a rare treasure.
It always gets me that the stars we see are actually ancient light from the past reaching us now.
The irony? The whole piece came from a vintage thrift find. A cardigan that definitely belonged to someone’s very stylish grandma. I started dreaming about her: Did she fantasize about Chanel as I do? Did she wear No. 5 as my own grandmother did?
I wondered if she would dream about Chanel like I do, or she ever wore No5 as my grandma did. What she would think If she saw them with a pair of black low-waist Khaite jeans.
After Matthieu Blazy’s Métiers d’Art show in NYC, I’m convinced Chanel will keep shining—caught between past and future, exactly where it should be.
If you’re wondering why I care so much about an overpriced fashion house: I like having constellations in my life. Points of light I can return to when I need guidance or inspiration.
But when the skyline shines brighter, I find my own constellation.
